Author Notes

This comic took about a month to make. Originally I had planned for it to be 4 pages long as an experiment to see how short a comic I could make, but then I liked this idea enough to want to expand upon it (Prophylactic Measures ended up being the short comic thingie). It is now the longest comic I have ever made!

When revisiting the story for this comic, I also took the time to reassess the characters, their designs, and their relationship and i feel like I am in a much better position to write more complex stories with them. In fact, I have come up with a whole plan for a series involving Comet & Rudy.

I'd like to use this series to experiment with different aesthetics so it may not end up looking totally cohesive comic-to-comic but I am okay with that. I wanted to experiment with grayscale this time. I started by desaturating their reference sheet but that made the contrast really poor so I had to redo the flats and start over with a limited palette of four tones. I added two more for the detailed close-ups but otherwise stuck to those.
